Georgian FM: “tangible dynamics” in economic relations with Turkey set to be reflected in $3 bln trade figure

Along with the “extraordinary” people-to-people and political cooperation, Georgia has “tangible dynamics” in trade and economic relations with Turkey, with the benchmark of $3 billion in trade to be reached “very soon” through “joint efforts” of the two countries, Georgian Foreign Minister Ilia Darchiashvili said in a joint press conference with his Turkish counterpart Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu on Thursday.

Darchiashvili said the Foreign Ministry and other state agencies “actively cooperated”  throughout the year to facilitate trade and promote economic cooperation between two countries, and pledged “this effort” would continue in the future to reduce “all existing technical barriers”that hinder the process.

During his official visit to Turkey, Darchiashvili held a meeting with his Turkish counterpart, discussing strategic partnership and security environment in the Black Sea region.
