Ruslan Stefanchuk, the Ukrainian Parliament Speaker, has welcomed the overcoming of “misunderstandings” between authorities of Ukraine and Georgia over their stances on the backdrop of the ongoing war in Ukraine, as his Georgian counterpart Shalva Papuashvili is preparing to visit the country defending itself from the Russian invasion.
The two officials on Wednesday agreed Papuashvili’s visit to Ukraine, during which he will observe the sites of war crimes committed by Russian troops since their invasion.
The trip of the Georgian delegation “will let parliamentarians see with their own what is happening in Ukraine and will confirm friendly relations between the two countries”, Stefanchuk tweeted on Wednesday.
