Eight Georgian MPs to pay visit to Ukraine

A delegation of eight Georgian MPs, led by Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili, will reportedly pay a visit to Ukraine tomorrow, amid Russia’s ongoing military invasion of the country.

The parliamentary delegation will include vice speakers - Archil Talakvadze and David Sergeenko from the ruling Georgian Dream party and Levan Ioseliani from the opposition party Citizens.

Opposition MPs - Ana Natsvlishvili from Lelo, Vakhtang Megrelishvili from Girchi, Republican Party’s Khatuna Samnidze and For Georgia’s Giorgi Khojevanishvili will also accompany the Georgian delegation to Ukraine.

Georgian Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili said on Wednesday he had offered the majority and opposition MPs to each select three delegates for a visit to Ukraine amid the war, but the opposition disagreed.

Papuashvili explained the opposition had requested the delegation to include one representative from each political party, which would create “logistic difficulties.”
