Georgia is lifting several coronavirus restrictions following today's meeting of the Interagency Coordination Council, announces the government of Georgia.
Starting today, wearing a face mask in outdoor space will no longer be mandatory, while the restriction remains in force in gathering places such as bus stops, public transport and indoor spaces.
However, the Interagency Coordination Council still recommends wearing a face mask regularly as 'it is recognised as one of the most effective means of preventing the spread of the coronavirus in the world'.
In addition, starting July 1 the curfew will be lifted in Georgia, however restaurants and food facilities in general will be open until 00:00. The operation of nightclubs remains restricted.

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili announced that one million doses of coronavirus vaccine will be delivered to Georgia in two weeks, but he did not specify which vaccine it will be.
A million doses of vaccine will be delivered in two weeks and we will start an intensive vaccination process", Garibashvili said.
The government of Georgia states that the process of receiving the coronavirus vaccine will continue in stages and by the end of the year, more than 3.6 million vaccines will have entered the country.

Unpaid fines with a total value of 76 million GEL (about 24.09m/€20.16m) will be written off for 245,000 Georgian citizens and 344 legal entities for not wearing facemasks and staying out of isolation or quarantine, announces Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili. He added that the bill to write off the fines was sent to the parliament today and will be approved 'in the shortest period of time'.

Georgia has reported 1,026 new cases of Covid-19 after conducting a total of 33,002 tests over the last 24 hours. Out of the 1,026 new cases 633 were reported in Tbilisi.
