Georgia reports 699 new cases of coronavirus of 34,104 tests

Georgia has reported 699 new cases of coronavirus, 614 recoveries and nine deaths in the past 24 hours.
34,104 tests were conducted around the country in the past 24 hours. 20,282 of the 34,104 tests were rapid tests, while the remaining 13,822 were PCR tests.
The country has had 362,183 cases of coronavirus since February 26, 2020.
2.45 per cent of tested individuals had Covid-19 in the past 14 days.
348,267 of the 362,183 patients have recovered, while 5,237 have died from the virus.

Currently 8,653 individuals remain infected with Covid-19.
The new 699 cases were recorded in:
- Tbilisi - 418 cases
- Adjara - 36 cases
- Imereti - 57 cases
- Kvemo Kartli - 51 cases
- Shida Kartli - 36 cases
- Guria -2 cases
- Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti - 32 cases
- Kakheti - 41 cases
- Mtskheta-Mtianeti - 12 cases
- Samtskhe-Javakheti - 11 cases
- Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti - 3 cases

2,592 patients are undergoing treatment in hospitals as of today. 657 of the 2,592 patients are in critical condition. 166 of the 657 critical patients are on artificial ventilation.
7,923 individuals are in self-isolation.
More than 5,686,000 tests have been conducted in the country so far.
Over 25 individuals registered for vaccination on June 21 were not able to receive the vaccine at the Republic hospital, Infectious Disease hospital and Khechinashvili hospitals due to certain logistic issues.
30,469 tests were conducted around the country in the past 24 hours. 15,944 of the 30,469 tests were rapid tests, while the remaining 14,525 were PCR tests. The country has had 361,484 cases of coronavirus since February 26, 2020. 2.43 per cent of tested individuals had Covid-19 in the past 14 days.347,653 of the 361,484 patients have recovered, while 5,228 have died from the virus.
The Parliament of Georgia has extended the right of the government of Georgia to impose Covid-19 restrictions until January 1, 2022. In total 78 members of the parliament voted in favour and 22 against the extension in the 150-member parliament.
Georgia is lifting several coronavirus restrictions following today's meeting of the Interagency Coordination Council, announces the government of Georgia. Starting today, wearing a face mask in outdoor space will no longer be mandatory, while the restriction remains in force in gathering places such as bus stops, public transport and indoor spaces.
Georgia has confirmed 20 cases of the Delta Covid-19 variant, Head of the National Disease Control Center (NCDC) Amiran Gamkrelidze says. Gamkrelidze also said that up to 15-20% of people in Georgia are being infected with this particular strain.
