Vakhtang Makharoblishvili, Georgia's Ambassador to the European Union, on Wednesday highlighted Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze’s meeting with the European Parliament President Roberta Metsola as “very important”.
Makharoblishvili said Metsola pledged her support in the ongoing and future process of Georgia’s European integration path, including the implementation of the nine conditions set out by the European Commission in November for opening accession talks with the country.
He added the European Parliament President also congratulated Georgia on receiving the EU membership candidate status in December.
Kobakhidze’s first official visit to Brussels started on Monday, with the official holding meetings with Josep Borrell, the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Olivér Várhelyi, the EU Commissioner for Neighbourhood and Enlargement and Charles Michel, the European Council President.
