Kobakhidze highlighted the importance of the country receiving the EU membership candidate status in December and noted the Georgian Government continued to work to achieve “further progress” for accession to the bloc under his leadership.
The PM also emphasised the role of the European Parliament and the importance of its support in the country’s European integration process.
The officials assessed the dynamics of cooperation and expressed their readiness to strengthen the partnership, the Government Administration said, with the meeting also focusing on security challenges in the Black Sea region and the wider world, and solutions to them.
The situation in the Russian-occupied regions of Georgia was also reviewed.
Kobakhidze thanked Metsola for her “steadfast support” of Georgia's European and Euro-Atlantic aspirations, as well as its sovereignty and territorial integrity.
