Georgian Foreign Minister Ilia Darchiashvili on Wednesday said the meeting between Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze and the European Parliament President Roberta Metsola on Wednesday would bring a “new impetus” to the relations between the sides.

“I am sure that this meeting will bring a new impetus to the relations. During the year, we will have further cooperation, and it is through this meeting that specific matters or priorities will be identified in terms of further cooperation”, Darchiashvili said.

Kobakhidze will meet Metsola and NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg within the framework of his ongoing visit to Brussels.

The PM on Tuesday said his Government had “confirmed” its “firm will” to fulfil its obligations with the European Union and move forward on its European integration path.
