Roberta Metsola, the European Parliament President, on Wednesday affirmed Parliament’s “full support” to the European aspirations of the people of Georgia.
Necessary reforms “will be key as Georgia proceeds on its European path”, Metsola stressed in her social media post following a “good meeting” with the Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze earlier today.

Following the meeting, in his turn, Kobakhidze told the media he had had “a very friendly meeting” with Metsola, highlighting her “quite positive attitude” towards Georgia.
The PM also emphasised he had discussed the deepening of relations between Georgia and the EU with the European Parliament President.
Progress achieved by Georgia on its European integration path and measures to ensure the country’s integration into the European Union were discussed at the meeting between the sides.
