Georgian FM, new US Ambassador discuss strategic partnership

A “wide range” of strategic partnership topics between Georgia and the United States, and prospects for its further development were discussed on Thursday in a meeting between the Georgian Foreign Minister Ilia Darchiashvili and Robin Dunnigan, the newly appointed Ambassador of the US to the country.

The Ministry said the meeting also covered discussions on “regional politics and security issues”.

Dunnigan reaffirmed the “unwavering support” of the US Government to the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Georgia, as well as to the country's foreign policy priorities.

The officials also confirmed their willingness to “continue and further intensify the fruitful cooperation” between the countries.
