Shalva Papuashvili, the Speaker of the Parliament of Georgia, will discuss Georgia's integration into the European Union at today’s meeting with the European Parliament President in Brussels.
As part of his ongoing visit to Brussels this week, Papuashvili is scheduled to meet with Roberta Metsola and MEPs for discussions.
We bring Georgia's application for EU membership to a new level, and therefore, the meeting with the President of the European Parliament is important in this regard as well. I think this will be, among other things, the basis for cooperation between the two parliaments,” Papuashvili noted ahead of the meeting.
The Speaker of the Parliament noted the Georgian legislation must be brought closer to the EU legislation “in many ways”, calling the experience of EU member states in the matter “important to us.”
