NATO “greatly values” its long-standing cooperation with Georgia, Deputy Secretary General Mircea Geoana tweeted on Tuesday following his meeting with the Speaker of the Parliament of Georgia Shalva Papuashvili.
Geoana made the comment after the meeting held as part of Papuashvili’s ongoing visit to Brussels this week. The two officials discussed the Russian military aggression in Ukraine and the long-term close cooperation between NATO and Georgia.
We discussed Russia’s brutal and unprovoked invasion of Ukraine, and its strategic implications. We greatly value our long-standing cooperation with #Georgia, one of the Alliance’s closest partners,” Geoana said.
