Danish FM to meet Georgian officials today

Minister of Foreign Affairs of Denmark Jeppe Kofod will visit Georgia on Wednesday, the Georgian foreign office has announced.
The top Danish diplomat will hold meetings with representatives of the Government of Georgia, including Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili.
Foreign Minister David Zalkaliani, Chairman of Foreign Affairs Committee of the Parliament Nikoloz Samkharadze and Deputy Prime Minister Levan Davitashvili will also have discussions with the visiting official.
The meetings will focus on important issues of Georgian-Danish bilateral relations, as well as questions related to the Black Sea and South Caucasus regions, and global matters.
NATO “greatly values” its long-standing cooperation with Georgia, Deputy Secretary General Mircea Geoana tweeted on Tuesday following his meeting with the Speaker of the Parliament of Georgia Shalva Papuashvili.
David Zalkaliani, the Georgian Foreign Minister, has been invited to the meeting of foreign ministers of NATO member and allied states, with the event launching next week in Brussels.
Zbigniew Rau, the Chairman-in-Office of the Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe and Poland’s Minister for Foreign Affairs, will visit Georgia, Azerbaijan and Armenia for meetings with officials of the states starting today, the OSCE said.

Georgian Foreign Minister Ilia Darchiashvili on Monday hosted his Danish counterpart Lars Løkke Rasmussen in an official meeting where he pledged Tbilisi remained committed to international sanctions imposed on Russia for its invasion of Ukraine last year.
