The Georgian national rugby team has won the Rugby Europe Championship 2021 after defeating the Netherlands in the eastern Georgian town of Telavi today.

This is the fifth victory for Georgia at the championship, which also serves as the qualifying tournament for the Rugby World Cup France 2023.

The Georgian 'Lelos', which have won the championship in 2020, 2019 and 2018, were the 'dominant force' at the competition, based on the World Rugby assessment.

Today’s victory is also a great way for Georgia to sign off ahead of a mouthwatering summer tour schedule which is made up of two Tests away to world champions South Africa followed up by a home Test against Scotland in July.
