The Georgian national rugby team has handed a defeat to Romania 28:17 in the Rugby Europe Championship 2021 in the Georgian capital of Tbilisi today.

This is the forth victory for Georgia at the championship, which also serves as the qualifying tournament for the Rugby World Cup France 2023.

The reigning champion, Georgia, has one hand on the trophy as the Rugby Europe Championship 2021 is coming to an end. The Lelos however have yet another fixture in late June against Belgium or Netherlands.

However, with today's victory the Lelos have managed to keep the Antim Cup contested between the teams of Georgia and Romania.

The Georgian Lelos, which have won the championship in 2020, 2019 and 2018, are the 'dominant force' at the competition, based on the World Rugby assessment.
