A 96-year-old woman has recovered from coronavirus in the Black Sea resort town of Batumi, Georgia.
Her son and daughter-in-law have also recovered from the infection.
All three of them were treated at the International University Hospital Batumi, where the family was taken two weeks ago.
The 96-year-old woman had acute respiratory failure and severe pneumonia but after two weeks of treatment was discharged.
Georgia has reported 1,943 new cases of coronavirus, of which 650 were registered in the capital city of Tbilisi, 506 in the Black Sea Adjara region and 324 in the Imereti region.
As for recoveries, 1,833 people recovered in the past 24 hours while the total number of recoveries has reached 28,633.
In total, 20 people died from coronavirus in Georgia in the past 24 hours.
Georgian Economy Minister Natia Turnava has tested positive for coronavirus. The press office of the Ministry of Economy of Georgia announces that Turnava feels good and will continue treatment at home.
Wearing face masks in open public areas will become mandatory around the country starting tomorrow to prevent the further spread of coronavirus, Vice Prime Minister Maia Tskitishvili stated earlier today. If one refuses to wear a face mask in open areas, individuals will be fined 20 GEL. Wearing a face mask was mandatory only in closed public areas up until now. Tskitishvili also said that restaurants around the country will work until 22:00.

Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia has tested positive for coronavirus. The prime minister’s press office says Gakharia feels well and will stay home to fight the disease. The news follows his announcement yesterday via Facebook that he had gone into self-isolation after one of his security guards tested positive for coronavirus the day before.

Head of the Task Force operating under the Interagency Coordination Council Aleksandre Khojevanishvili announced at a briefing today that the number of total confirmed cases of COVID-19 has increased to 54,852, while the number of total recoveries has reached 39,773.
Galina Zakradze, 102, is one of the 62,061 individuals who have recovered from coronavirus in Georgia. Thanking the health workers of Kutaisi Infectious Disease hospital for their care, Galina Zakradze received a lot of applause while leaving the hospital upon recovery.
