Coronavirus update: 2,295 new cases, 2,537 recoveries, 19 deaths

Georgia has reported 2,295 new cases of coronavirus, of which 989 were registered in the capital city of Tbilisi, 387 in the Black Sea Adjara region and 387 in the Imereti region.
Other places where new cases of coronavirus have been registered in the past 24 hours are:
- Kvemo Kartli - 166 cases
- Shida Kartli - 133 cases
- Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti - 97 cases
- Kakheti - 47 cases
- Mtskheta-Mtianeti - 33 cases
- Samtskhe-Javakheti - 29 cases
- Guria - 27 cases
As for recoveries, 2,537 people recovered in the past 24 hours while the total number of recoveries has reached 31,170.
How many people have died from coronavirus?
In total, 19 people died from coronavirus in Georgia in the past 24 hours. Deaths were reported in:
- Tbilisi - 2
- Adjara - 9
- Imereti - 6
- Shida Kartli - 1
- Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti - 1
Since February 26, the day when the coronavirus case was first registered in Georgia, the country has reported 381 death cases.
How many people are currently being treated for coronavirus?
As of today 15,240 individuals remain infected with Covid-19 in Georgia, of which:
- 8,457 individuals are being treated at home
- 4,355 individuals are undergoing treatment in hospitals
- 3,004 individuals are in quarantine
- 2,428 individuals are in Covid-hotels
- 569 are severe patients
- 238 are on artificial ventilation
In total 28,330 individuals are in self-isolation.

Georgian Economy Minister Natia Turnava has tested positive for coronavirus. The press office of the Ministry of Economy of Georgia announces that Turnava feels good and will continue treatment at home.
A 96-year-old woman has recovered from coronavirus in the Black Sea resort town of Batumi, Georgia. Her son and daughter-in-law have also recovered from the infection. All three of them were treated at the International University Hospital Batumi, where the family was taken two weeks ago.
Wearing face masks in open public areas will become mandatory around the country starting tomorrow to prevent the further spread of coronavirus, Vice Prime Minister Maia Tskitishvili stated earlier today. If one refuses to wear a face mask in open areas, individuals will be fined 20 GEL. Wearing a face mask was mandatory only in closed public areas up until now. Tskitishvili also said that restaurants around the country will work until 22:00.
Georgia has reported 1,943 new cases of coronavirus, of which 650 were registered in the capital city of Tbilisi, 506 in the Black Sea Adjara region and 324 in the Imereti region.

Georgia has reported 2,401 new cases of coronavirus, 2,289 recoveries and 20 deaths in the past 24 hours. 15,332 individuals remain infected with Covid-19 in Georgia as of today.Georgia has had 49,218 cases of coronavirus since February 26, 2020. Since then 33,459 individuals have recovered, while 401 others have died. 4,489 patients are undergoing treatment in hospitals as of today. 638 of the 4,489 patients are in critical condition. 293 of the 638 critical patients are on artificial ventilation. 1,127 Covid-19 patients are in hotels, while 3,160 individuals are in quarantine.
Coronavirus has spread to a nursing home of the west Georgian city of Kutaisi in the Imereti region.
Georgia has reported 2,775 new cases of coronavirus, 3,560 recoveries and 22 deaths in the past 24 hours. Georgia has had 51,993 cases of coronavirus since February 26, 2020. Since then 37,019 individuals have recovered, while 423 others have died. 4,618 patients are undergoing treatment in hospitals as of today. 619 of the 4,489 patients are in critical condition. 268 of the 638 critical patients are on artificial ventilation.
Head of Georgia’s National Centre for Disease Control Amiran Gamkrelidze says that the government is likely to impose further restrictions to curb the increase in new infections of coronavirus, adding that there are no plans to declare a complete lockdown. Gamkrelidze stated earlier today that the government is expected to inform the public about new restrictions in the coming days. He stated that along with new restrictions the enforcement of existing ones ‘is of high importance.’
