Three schools in Zugdidi to continue studies online as 14 students test positive for coronavirus

Three schools in Zugdidi will continue studies online as 14 school students have tested positive for the coronavirus, said acting State Representative in Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti Malkhaz Toria.

He noted that recently 200 people have been tested for the virus in the region, out of which 20 tested positive..

14 out of 20 coronavirus cases are school students from Zugdidi who have been in contact with a private teacher who was infected from a cluster from the shopping centre ‘Okros Birja’.

As these 14 minors are school students of Rukhi, Ingiri №1 and Didinedzi, all these schools will study online.

There are 91 infected individuals in Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti region. 69 coronavirus patients are being treated in Rukhi hospital, four are in severe condition. 

173 people are placed under quarantine in the region.
