Schools and universities will reopen on October 1 instead of September 15 in Georgia’s Black Sea cities of Batumi and Kobuleti, as 20 new cases of coronavirus have been recorded in Batumi today, Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia announced.
Studies will be postponed until October 1 in Batumi and Kobuleti. School children and students will have to attend remote classes for two weeks starting September 15”, said Gakharia earlier today.
Gakharia also noted that as tourism-related mobility has been quite high during the last months in the Adjara region, the Georgian government expected to see an increase in the number of infected individuals, though the virus is fully under control.
He also noted that individuals entering Georgia will have to spend eight days instead of 12 in quarantine.
After eight days people placed in quarantine will take a PCR test. If they are negative, they will be able to leave quarantine zones, however they will still be obliged to take a second PCR test three days later.
