Schools in Ozurgeti municipality in the Guria region will continue studies online as an increased number of coronavirus cases have been confirmed in the area.

Georgia has reported a record 298 new cases of the coronavirus earlier today and three deaths.
Meanwhile, 148 individuals recovered in Georgia within the last 24 hours. The total number of recoveries has reached 2,054.
In total 31 people have died of the virus in the country, 5,650 people are in quarantine, 836 are under hospital supervision, and 41 citizens of Georgia have been transported home from abroad for treatment. The number of people staying at COVID hotels amounts to 800.
Since February 26, 2020 Georgia has had 5,552 cases of the coronavirus.
Universities and vocational schools will begin in-person studies on October 19 throughout Georgia, excluding the Adjara region, as most of the newly infected cases of coronavirus have been recorded in the region in the recent weeks.

All schools in Georgia will have to create a space for medical services by September 15, 2022, says head of parliament's Education Committee Genadi Margvelashvili, who added that the amendments will be introduced into the law of Georgia ‘On general education.’
Georgian Education Ministry will impose restriction only on the schools which will have confirmed cases of COVID-19. Based on the National Centre for Disease Control all of the infected teachers and students will go into self-isolation, schools will be disinfected and continue online studies.
