Georgia has reported a record 298 new cases of the coronavirus earlier today and three deaths.
Representative of Tbilisi Hospital of Infections Diseases Marina Endeladze said that two of the three patients who died of coronavirus were treated in the coastal Adjara region and one in the capital city of Tbilisi.
Three patients died yesterday, two of them in Adjara, men aged 65 and 70, who had concomitant diseases. One had diabetes and the other had a stroke, bilateral acute pneumonia, respiratory failure, and was unable to recover from their condition. A 57-year-old woman died in Tbilisi, who also had concomitant diseases and developed acute respiratory syndrome. The patient could not be taken out", she said.
The cases were distributed in:
- Adjara region - 175 cases
- Imereti region - 38 cases
- Tbilisi - 32 cases
- Guria region - 16 cases
- Samtskhe-Javakheti - 11 cases
- Kvemo Kartli region - 7 cases
- Kakheti - 4 case
Meanwhile, 148 individuals recovered in Georgia within the last 24 hours. The total number of recoveries has reached 2,054.

In total 31 people have died of the virus in the country, 5,650 people are in quarantine, 836 are under hospital supervision, and 41 citizens of Georgia have been transported home from abroad for treatment. The number of people staying at COVID hotels amounts to 800.
Since February 26, 2020 Georgia has had 5,552 cases of the coronavirus.
One more infected individual has died in Georgia today increasing the coronavirus-related deaths to 28. A 59-year-old woman who had underlying diseases including pneumonia, died at the Kutaisi Infectious Disease hospital in the western Georgian region of Imereti.
A total of 296 new cases of coronavirus have been reported in Georgia this morning. Meanwhile, 60 individuals have recovered. As of today, the number of total confirmed cases has increased to 4,960, including 1,819 recoveries and 27 deaths. Georgian state and health officials again call on everyone to maintain social distancing, wear face masks and wash hands frequently.
Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia says that coronavirus continues to attack the world and Georgia, but the knowledge Georgia has gained allows the country to manage the situation and share its successful experience in this regard.
Three schools in Zugdidi will continue studies online as 14 school students have tested positive for the coronavirus, said acting State Representative in Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti Malkhaz Toria.

Georgian Health Minister Ekaterine Tikaradze said that a 57 years old man had concomitant diseases and his condition was critical. Meanwhile, Georgia has reported a record 298 new cases of the coronavirus earlier today.
Georgia has reported a record 314 new cases of the coronavirus earlier today and one death. Representative of Tbilisi Hospital of Infections Diseases Marina Endeladze said that out of 314 new cases of the coronavirus 225 were registered in the coastal Adjara region.
One more individual has died in Georgia today from coronavirus complications, increasing the death toll to 34.
