One more infected individual has died in Georgia today increasing the coronavirus-related deaths to 28.
A 59-year-old woman who had underlying diseases including pneumonia, died at the Kutaisi Infectious Disease hospital in the western Georgian region of Imereti.
Meanwhile, an employee of Rustavi #16 penitentiary facility has tested positive for COVID-19, the special penitentiary service has announced.
The service said the infected individual did not have contact with other employees or inmates as he worked outside the facility. However, the infected individual had contact with the family members of inmates.
Those employees who also work outside the facility together with the infected individual have tested negative for coronavirus. Nevertheless, all of them have gone into self-isolation.
New record high 296 cases were confirmed in Georgia earlier today, including 41 cases if the capital of Tbilisi.
In his video address to the 75th anniversary of the United Nations, Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia said Georgia manages the situation.
A total of 296 new cases of coronavirus have been reported in Georgia this morning. Meanwhile, 60 individuals have recovered. As of today, the number of total confirmed cases has increased to 4,960, including 1,819 recoveries and 27 deaths. Georgian state and health officials again call on everyone to maintain social distancing, wear face masks and wash hands frequently.
Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia says that coronavirus continues to attack the world and Georgia, but the knowledge Georgia has gained allows the country to manage the situation and share its successful experience in this regard.
Director of the Batumi Republican Hospital Solomon Putkaradze has tested positive for the coronavirus.
Georgia has reported a record 298 new cases of the coronavirus earlier today and three deaths. Representative of Tbilisi Hospital of Infections Diseases Marina Endeladze said that two of the three patients who died of coronavirus were treated in the coastal Adjara region and one in the capital city of Tbilisi.
Traffic has been restricted in Daba Laituri, in Ozurgeti municipality as an increased number of coronavirus cases have been confirmed in the area.
Georgia has confirmed 294 new coronavirus cases over the last 24 hours with 66% of cases reported in the Adjara region and 15% of cases reported in the capital of Tbilisi. Marina Endeladze, representative of Tbilisi Hospital of Infections Diseases, told journalists that Georgia retains the status of a ‘green zone’ with the speed of the spread of the infection so far.

Meanwhile, Georgia has reported a record 298 new cases of the coronavirus earlier today.
