One more parient dies of coronavirus in Georgia

One more infected individual has died in Georgia today increasing the coronavirus-related deaths to 28.

A 59-year-old woman who had underlying diseases including pneumonia, died at the Kutaisi Infectious Disease hospital in the western Georgian region of Imereti.

Meanwhile, an employee of Rustavi #16 penitentiary facility has tested positive for COVID-19, the special penitentiary service has announced.

The service said the infected individual did not have contact with other employees or inmates as he worked outside the facility. However, the infected individual had contact with the family members of inmates.

Those employees who also work outside the facility together with the infected individual have tested negative for coronavirus. Nevertheless, all of them have gone into self-isolation.

New record high 296 cases were confirmed in Georgia earlier today, including 41 cases if the capital of Tbilisi. 

In his video address to the 75th anniversary of the United Nations, Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia said Georgia manages the situation.
