Heavy rain has hit Batumi, the capital of the Georgian Black Sea region of Adjara, causing flooding in the streets and the central highway.

Head of the local water company Giorgi Siradze said all of the services of the Batumi City Hall are working in emergency mode.
We are fighting a natural disaster. Such a heavy rain has not come in the town for the last two years”, SIradze said.
As of now, traffic has been partially restored at the highway connecting Batumi and Makhinjauri.
