Heavy rains have hit Lagodekhi, Kvareli and Akhmeta municipalities in Georgia’s eastern Kakheti region. Agricultural land plots and roads were damaged as the water level in the rivers of Duruji, Orvila and Kabali increased.
Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty reports that the heavy rain caused flooding in yards, greenhouses and ground floors in Vardisubani, a village in Lagodekhi municipality.

Kakheti Governor Irakli Kadagishvili said that losses will be assessed today. He mentioned that the severe rain mainly damaged roads and drainage systems in Akhmeta, Lagodekhi and Kvareli municipalities.
Specialists forecast that the weather conditions will improve across the country starting May 11 and the temperature will significantly rise.
