Heavy hail has hit 10 villages in Bolnisi municipality in Georgia’s eastern Kvemo Kartli region.

Vice Mayor of Bolnisi municipality Buba Gobejishvili said that losses will be assessed today and the residents of the municipality will receive compensation for the hail damage.

In the middle of June 2020, Georgia’s eastern Telavi and Sighnagi municipalities (Kakheti region) were also hit by heavy hail.
High winds took off roofs of over 20 houses in the village of Kondoli in Telavi municipality.
Vineyards, wheat fields, and watermelon orchards were damaged in the villages of Sighnagi region by heavy hail on June 22.

Heavy rains have hit Lagodekhi, Kvareli and Akhmeta municipalities in Georgia’s eastern Kakheti region. Agricultural land plots and roads were damaged as the water level in the rivers of Duruji, Orvila and Kabali increased.
A heavy rain and hail hit some municipalities in the Georgian regions of Imereti and Kakheti yesterday. Bad weather has especially affected the municipality of Sachkhere in Imereti region, damaging 30 percent of the agricultural land plots and vineyards.
Heavy rain has hit 12 villages in Georgia’s western Oni municipality (Racha region). Ten bridges have been washed away by the Rioni River. Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia’s advisor for regional development issues Sozar Subari, Director of the United Water Supply Company Giga Mandaria, and Head of Emergency Management Service Temur Mgebrshvili will study the disaster on the ground.
Rescuers of Georgia’s emergency service have evacuated 150 people from the disaster zone in Georgia’s western Oni municipality (Racha region) which was hit by heavy rain and flooding on July 28. Rescuers have provided locals with food and medicine.
Four disaster-affected villages in the Racha region (Ghebi, Little Ghebi, Shovi, Glola) will be cut off from the rest of the country for about a month as heavy rain damaged the central highway in the region and washed away ten bridges on July 28.
Access to seven villages affected by heavy rain and flooding in western Georgia's Racha province has been restored, with the five other villages still without road connection to the rest of the country.
