Heavy hail has hit the villages of Dzveli Anaga and Jugaani in the Sighnaghi region, in eastern Georgia yesterday.
Vineyards, wheat fields, and watermelon and melon orchards in the villages were damaged.
Hail continued for around half an hour and damaged about 70-90 per cent of vineyards, fields and gardens, said locals.
Residents of villages say that they heard the sound of anti-hail rockets, but they had no effect.
The mayor of Sighnaghi municipality, Gogi Gogilashvili, said that they currently do not have information about the exact extent of the damage.
Hail also hit the municipality of Dedoplistskaro, where it hailed for around 20 minutes, locals say.
