A low-cost airline from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) is coming to Batumi International Airport, located on Georgia’s Black Sea coastline, to offer more flights and fresh routes this summer.
This week Batumi International Airport welcomed the first flight from Dubai, a main city in the UAE, performed by Air Arabia.
Direct flights on the route Dubai (Sharjah)-Batumi-Dubai (Sharjah) will be performed during this summer season, announced TAV Georgia, the company that operates Tbilisi, Batumi and Kutaisi international airports.
Starting from July 7 Air Arabia will perform flights twice a week, on Thursdays and Saturdays on A-320 type aircrafts. The service will continue until September 30, 2016.

Meanwhile, Air Arabia was also offering flights to connect Georgia’s capital Tbilisi with Dubai. Dubai is known for luxury shopping, ultramodern architecture and a lively nightlife scene.
It should also be mentioned that during the 2016 summer season Air Arabia will perform regular flights on the route Dubai (Sharjah)-Tbilisi-Dubai (Sharjah) four times a week, on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays,” said TAV Georgia.
Air Arabia has carried out flights to Tbilisi International Airport since October 2014.

In recent years tourism was growing in Georgia’s Adjara region, particularly so in the Black Sea coastal city of Batumi.
In July 2015 the number of tourists to Adjara increased 5.8 percent year-on-year (y/y), while between January and July 2015, the region experienced 4.3 percent growth y/y, showed statistics released by the Government of Georgia.
