Nikoloz Samkharadze, the ruling Georgian Dream (GD) MP who chairs the Parliament’s Foreign Affairs Committee, on Tuesday reiterated the government’s position on condemning Russia's military aggression against Ukraine and expressing its solidarity with the Ukrainian people.
We condemn the military aggression of Russia against Ukraine and the recognition of the so-called ‘independence’ of the puppet regimes of Donetsk and Luhansk. The hostilities have already caused human casualties and continue to endanger the lives of civilians,” Samkharadze said.

The Head of Foreign Affairs Committee stressed “such use of force is unacceptable in the 21st century, as it poses a serious threat to the stability of Europe and the Black Sea region, and grossly violates the universally recognized norms and principles of international law.”
Samkharadze also called on the international community to keep its support for Ukraine and respond “efficiently” to the Russian Federation for its gross violation of international law.
