NATO values Georgia very much as its partner, Javier Colomina, the NATO Secretary General’s Special Representative for the Caucasus and Central Asia, said on Wednesday following his meetings with the Georgian Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili and members of the Parliament’s Defence and Security Committee.
Colomina noted the meeting had focused on security and defence issues, but also political subjects.
NATO-Georgia relations are very good. We highly value Georgia as a partner. We have excellent practical cooperation. The tools at your disposal are basically all the tools that NATO have. We should also emphasize that some tools are unique and work only for Georgia,” the NATO official said.
In comments following the meeting, Colomina stressed NATO was in the process of “stepping up” its tools to provide Georgia with "specific instruments."
