Georgian PM visits infrastructure projects in Kakheti region

Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Garibashvili visited the infrastructure projects in the country’s winemaking Kakheti region on Saturday.

Garibashvili started his tour by visiting the highway construction project in Kakheti, which is supposed to reduce the travel time from the capital city of Tbilisi by half.

The Georgian PM noted his Government would spend a total of 2 billion GEL for the development of road infrastructure in Kakheti as part of the Government’s 10-year plan.

Later, Garibashvili proceeded to visit the rehabilitation works of a culture house in the village of Matani. The rehabilitation, carried out at the local population's request, cost a total of 1,671,000 GEL.

In the town of Akhmeta, Garibashvili visited the memorial of the soldiers who died during fights for the territorial integrity of Georgia. The cost of the construction-rehabilitation works of the memorial amount to 551,000 GEL.

Garibashvili also attended the presentation of the systematic land reform, saying the Government would speed up the land registration process throughout Georgia.

On my decision, we are speeding up the systematic land registration process throughout Georgia. The state will systematically measure land plots in specific areas, look for relevant documentations and register ownerships,” he said.

The Georgian PM also visited professional college Prestige in the city of Telavi, which was rehabilitated with the financial support of the Georgian Education Ministry. The college offers educational programmes in various fields, including agriculture and construction.
