Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili inspected the construction of a multifunctional rowing school and sports complex in the city of Rustavi, outside the capital Tbilisi, on Friday, the Government press office reported.
Inspecting the construction as part of his regional tour, Garibashvili, together with Irakli Karseladze, the Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure, observed the school that is slated to benefit thousands of locals, and is equipped with rest areas, conceptual spaces, gyms and other facilities.

The PM also visited a multifunctional sports complex under construction in the city, where, in addition to primary facilities, investors plan to arrange an educational space for studying modern technologies in the coming future.
Garibashvili said the project held “great importance” for residents of Rustavi, who have requested construction of a multifunctional sports complex for years.

The project for the 1,500-seat indoor venue is funded by the Asian Development Bank. The two-story building will include basketball, handball, indoor football pitches and boxing halls. It will also have an open cafe, parking zone, and a recreation area.
The total cost of the project is about 20 million GEL (about $6,514,908/€5,996,391).

Renovation of the Megobroba Avenue in Rustavi is also underway, as part of the Renewed Regions programme of the Government. The project worth 40 million GEL (about $ 13,029,606/€11,985,744) will be completed by the end of 2022.
