Georgian athlete wins Junior and U23 Canoe Sprint European Championships

Georgian athlete Aleksandre Tsivtsivadze has claimed two gold medals at the 2022 ECA Junior and U23 Canoe Sprint European Championships in Belgrade, Serbia.

Tsivtsivadze was the fastest in the final for men’s junior C1 category for 1,000 metre distance, covering the range in 3 minutes and 58 seconds.

The young athlete also claimed gold in the 200-metre sprint race on Saturday, finishing with a time of 41.2 seconds.

The result marks the second European Champion’s title for Tsivtsivadze. He claimed his first gold medal at the 2021 ECA Junior and U23 Canoe Sprint European Championships in Poland.

The Belgrade championships took place between Thursday and Sunday.
