Georgia will partner with ITB Berlin, the world’s leading travel trade show, and hold marketing activities in Germany and the European Union to promote the country’s tourism potential, Deputy Economy Minister Mariam Kvrivishvili said on Tuesday.
Kvrivishvili said the ITB partnership would “especially enhance” cooperation dynamics between Georgia and Germany in the field, and added her Government also supported Georgian tourism companies in integration into the German market.
Cooperation with this exhibition [ITB] is the best opportunity for our country to better present the priorities of the field - this is the shortest way to show the world that Georgia is a safe and, in many ways, an interesting tourist destination,” the Deputy Minister said.
ITB Berlin is considered one of the most prestigious events in the tourism and travel industry worldwide. Over 10,000 companies are represented in the show annually, with 17 million tourism professionals and stakeholders networking at the event from across the world.
Kvrivishvili also held a meeting with representatives of the German Embassy in Tbilisi earlier today, with priority issues of tourism cooperation discussed by the sides. The Georgian official noted Germany was a “strategic tourism market” for Georgia, pointing out the “growing dynamics” of tourist flows from Germany.
