Coronavirus: Georgia reports 3,216 new cases, 3,937 recoveries, 37 deaths

Georgia has reported 3,216 new cases of coronavirus, 3,937 recoveries and 37 deaths in the past 24 hours.
20,305 individuals remain infected with Covid-19 in Georgia as of today.
The new 3,216 cases were recorded in:
- Tbilisi - 1,622 cases
- Adjara - 313 cases
- Imereti - 517 cases
- Kvemo Kartli - 187 cases
- Shida Kartli - 82 cases
- Guria - 19 cases
- Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti - 160 cases
- Kakheti - 161 cases
- Mtskheta-Mtianeti - 77 cases
- Samtskhe-Javakheti - 74 cases
- Racha-Lechkhumi, Kvemo Svaneti - 4 cases

Georgia has had 135,584 cases of coronavirus since February 26, 2020.
Since then 113,986 individuals have recovered, while 1,267 others have died.
6,383 patients are undergoing treatment in hospitals as of today. 1,038 of the 6,383 patients are in critical condition. 466 of the 1,038 critical patients are on artificial ventilation.
3,857 Covid-19 patients are in hotels, 2,104 individuals are in quarantine and 10,065 are at home.
52,822 individuals are in self-isolation.
More than 1,183,000 individuals have been tested for coronavirus in Georgia so far.
A total of 2,738 businesses have been warned, 2,309 have been closed down, while two others have been fined for violating coronavirus-related regulations in Georgia. Recently introduced COVID-19 restrictions entered into force on November 28, restricting the activities of numerous businesses, including hospitality, fitness and spas.
A total of 4,426 new cases of coronavirus have been reported in Georgia over the last 24 hours, including 1,802 in the capital of Tbilisi. Acclaimed Georgian actor Kakhi Kavsadze, who has also tested positive for coronavirus, was delivered to the First University Clinic today.
A 101-year-old woman has recovered from coronavirus in the western Georgian town of Kutaisi. Tamara Pkhakadze is one of the 106,328 individuals who have defeated COVID-19 in Georgia so far. Expressing her gratitude to the hospital employees Tamara Pkhakadze said she feels very well now.
Georgia has reported 4,472 new cases of coronavirus over the last 24 hours, increasing the total number of cases confirmed since late-February to 127,942. Meanwhile, 4,058 people have recovered, increasing the overall recoveries to 106,328, while with 34 new fatality cases, the number of coronavirus-related deaths now stands at 1,195.
Head of Georgia’s National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) Amiran Gamkrelidze says that Georgia is currently experiencing peak coronavirus infections, noting that the duration of the peak depends on many factors, including the observation of recently-imposed government regulations.
Fitness club Reformer Fitness in Batumi has been closed by police and fined 10,000 GEL after it was rented out by libertarian Girchi party leader Zurab Japaridze, who offered the public to use the facility – what Japaridze called his ‘home’ – despite the coronavirus regulations forbidding the functioning of gyms.
Police have recorded 1,244 coronavirus-related violations in the past 24 hours throughout the country.
Out of the 1,244 individuals, 67 were fined for violating self-isolation and quarantine, while 1,177 were fined for violating face mask regulations.
Georgia is expected to receive the coronavirus vaccine either in March or April 2021 via the COVID-19 Vaccines Global Access Facility (Covax), the head of Georgia’s National Centre for Disease Control, Amiran Gamkrelidze, stated earlier today.
About 90 per cent of increased demand for medical oxygen is covered by local manufacturing, said Georgian Economy Minister Natia Turnava earlier today, noting that the Ministry of Economy is involved in promoting the production of medical oxygen and increasing its stock in the country.
Georgia has reported 3,759 new cases of coronavirus, 3,574 recoveries and 36 deaths in the past 24 hours. 20,454 individuals remain infected with Covid-19 in Georgia as of today. Georgia has had 139,343 cases of coronavirus since February 26, 2020. Since then 117,560 individuals have recovered, while 1,303 others have died. 6,366 patients are undergoing treatment in hospitals as of today. 1,003 of the 6,366 patients are in critical condition. 376 of the 1,003 critical patients are on artificial ventilation.
