Coronavirus: 2,309 businesses closed down, 2,738 warned, 2 fined for violating regulations

A total of 2,738 businesses have been warned, 2,309 have been closed down for violating coronavirus-related regulations in Georgia.
Moreover, the labour inspection department of the Health Ministry has fined a Batumi-based Reformer fitness club and a restaurant Kidobani with 10,000 GEL each.
Amid the current epidemiological situation, the labour Inspection continues to tighten control across the country", the health ministry has announced.
Recently introduced COVID-19 restrictions entered into force on November 28, restricting the activities of numerous businesses, including hospitality, fitness and spas.
While the Georgian health officials have welcomed the new coronavirus regulations introduced by the Georgian government, opposition parties have called them ‘irresponsible and unreasonable.’
A total of 4,426 new cases of coronavirus have been reported in Georgia over the last 24 hours, including 1,802 in the capital of Tbilisi. Acclaimed Georgian actor Kakhi Kavsadze, who has also tested positive for coronavirus, was delivered to the First University Clinic today.

A total of four night clubs located in Batumi - Soho, Sector 26, Conte bar and UP2U - have been closed down and fined for violating coronavirus-related safety norms. Only Iveria Beach club has satisfied the coronavirus-related requirements of safety.
Georgian Health Minister Ekaterine Tikaradze has presented a 5-year report of the Labour Inspection Department of the Ministry of Health, saying 'we have introduced labour safety in Georgia'.
Georgia has reported 3,216 new cases of coronavirus, 3,937 recoveries and 37 deaths in the past 24 hours. 20,305 individuals remain infected with Covid-19 in Georgia as of today. Georgia has had 135,584 cases of coronavirus since February 26, 2020. Since then 113,986 individuals have recovered, while 1,267 others have died. 6,383 patients are undergoing treatment in hospitals as of today. 1,038 of the 6,383 patients are in critical condition. 466 of the 1,038 critical patients are on artificial ventilation.
Head of Georgia’s National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) Amiran Gamkrelidze says that Georgia is currently experiencing peak coronavirus infections, noting that the duration of the peak depends on many factors, including the observation of recently-imposed government regulations.
Police have recorded 1,244 coronavirus-related violations in the past 24 hours throughout the country.
Out of the 1,244 individuals, 67 were fined for violating self-isolation and quarantine, while 1,177 were fined for violating face mask regulations.
