Georgia reports 4,426 new coronavirus cases including 1,802 in Tbilisi

A total of 4,426 new cases of coronavirus have been reported in Georgia over the last 24 hours, including 1,802 in the capital of Tbilisi. 

New cases have also been reported in the regions:

  • Imereti - 637
  • Adjara - 554
  • Samegrelo- Zemo Svaneti - 400
  • Kvemo Kartli - 268
  • Shida Kartli - 258
  • Kakheti - 219
  • Guria - 119
  • Mtskheta-Mtianeti - 108
  • Samtskhe-Javakheti - 50
  • Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti - 11

Meanwhile, 3,721 people have recovered from coronavirus and 35 others have unfortunately died.

Acclaimed Georgian actor Kakhi Kavsadze, who has also tested positive for coronavirus, was delivered to the First University Clinic today. His brother, Imeri Kavsadze is also infected with the virus.  

We are in self-isolation for over a week now… Everything will be alright. We are going under treatment at home but Kakhi was delivered to the clinic today; he is elder than me and we though it would be better”, Imeri Kavsadze said.
