Georgia has reported 3,759 new cases of coronavirus, 3,574 recoveries and 36 deaths in the past 24 hours.
20,454 individuals remain infected with Covid-19 in Georgia as of today.
The new 3,759 cases were recorded in:
- Tbilisi - 1,595 cases
- Adjara - 623 cases
- Imereti - 392 cases
- Kvemo Kartli - 139 cases
- Shida Kartli - 127 cases
- Guria - 152 cases
- Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti - 237 cases
- Kakheti - 253 cases
- Mtskheta-Mtianeti - 126 cases
- Samtskhe-Javakheti - 72 cases
- Racha-Lechkhumi, Kvemo Svaneti - 43 cases

Georgia has had 139,343 cases of coronavirus since February 26, 2020.
Since then 117,560 individuals have recovered, while 1,303 others have died.

6,366 patients are undergoing treatment in hospitals as of today. 1,003 of the 6,366 patients are in critical condition. 376 of the 1,003 critical patients are on artificial ventilation.
3,708 Covid-19 patients are in hotels, 1,978 individuals are in quarantine and 10,380 are at home.
51,282 individuals are in self-isolation.
More than 1,185,000 individuals have been tested for coronavirus in Georgia so far.
Georgia is expected to receive the coronavirus vaccine either in March or April 2021 via the COVID-19 Vaccines Global Access Facility (Covax), the head of Georgia’s National Centre for Disease Control, Amiran Gamkrelidze, stated earlier today.
Fitness club Reformer Fitness in Batumi has been closed by police and fined 10,000 GEL after it was rented out by libertarian Girchi party leader Zurab Japaridze, who offered the public to use the facility – what Japaridze called his ‘home’ – despite the coronavirus regulations forbidding the functioning of gyms.
Head of Georgia’s National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) Amiran Gamkrelidze says that Georgia is currently experiencing peak coronavirus infections, noting that the duration of the peak depends on many factors, including the observation of recently-imposed government regulations.
Georgia has reported 3,216 new cases of coronavirus, 3,937 recoveries and 37 deaths in the past 24 hours. 20,305 individuals remain infected with Covid-19 in Georgia as of today. Georgia has had 135,584 cases of coronavirus since February 26, 2020. Since then 113,986 individuals have recovered, while 1,267 others have died. 6,383 patients are undergoing treatment in hospitals as of today. 1,038 of the 6,383 patients are in critical condition. 466 of the 1,038 critical patients are on artificial ventilation.
Two individuals have been detained at a rally in Batumi earlier today in which the opposition and their supporters demand a meeting with the head of government of Adjara Autonomous Republic Tornike Rizhvadze.
The family of 19-year-old Tekla Tordia, who has died of coronavirus, claims the death was caused by delayed hospitalisation. Tekla’s mother Irma Tordia told Rustavi 2 TV that her daughter was initially sent to a special Covid-hotel which did not even have medical oxygen, but the family was told that there were no places at hospitals.
Georgia has reported 4,033 new cases of coronavirus, 4,061 recoveries and 39 deaths in the past 24 hours. 20,387 individuals remain infected with Covid-19 in Georgia as of today. Georgia has had 143,376 cases of coronavirus since February 26, 2020. Since then 121,621 individuals have recovered, while 1,342 others have died. 6,397 patients are undergoing treatment in hospitals as of today. 1,058 of the 6,397 patients are in critical condition. 466 of the 1,058 critical patients are on artificial ventilation.
Starting today the Georgian government will ensure 20,000 daily coronavirus tests around the country to reveal new infections and curb the spread of the virus in a timely fashion. Large-scale testing will continue until February 1, 2021. Tests conducted by private clinics and labs will be added to the 20,000 tests. Rapid tests will be actively used in the process,” said the government, adding that testing will also ensure proper hospitalisation of critical patients.
