Mtavari Arkhi TV exit poll predicts run off in 7 out of 8 Tbilisi constituencies

Mtavari Arkhi TV has released separate results of its exit polls carried out by IPSOS. It says in all constituencies except from Gldani, predicting the runoff between the ruling Georgian Dream party and opposition candidates in the majoritarian part of the elections. 

The exit poll results show that the United National Movement candidate Nika Melia received 53% of votes, while the ruling party candidate Levan Kobiashvili - 38% in Gldani constituency.

To clear the majoritarian threshold a candidate should receive more than 50% of votes, which means that based on IPSOS results, Melia is leading in the race.

Below are the results of the seven other constituencies:

  1. Shalva Shavgulidze, European Georgia - 46%
  2. Beka Odisharia, Georgian Dream - 35%

Vake

  1. Elene Khoshtaria, European Georgia - 47%
  2. Nodar Turdzeladze, Georgian Dream  - 33%

Saburtalo

  1. Davit Sergeenko, Georgian Dream - 35%
  2. Aleksandre Elisashvili, Citizens - 21%

Isani:

  1. Kakha Kakhishvili, Georgian Dream - 35%
  2. Khatia Dekanoidze, United National Movement - 32%

Samgori

  1. Levan Khabeishvili, United National Movement - 49%
  2. Sozar Subari, Georgian Dream - 33%

Didube-Chughureti

  1. Zurab Japaridze, Girchi  - 35%
  2. Gia Volski, Georgian Dream  - 33%

Nadzaladevi

  1. Mikheil Kavelashvili, Georgian Dream - 35%
  2. Shalva Natelashvili, Labour Party - 33%

Mtavari Arkhi TV ahas shared exit poll results for the 22 regional constituencies as well, also predicting the run off in most of them. 

Meanwhile, in its proportional part of the elections, Mtavari Arkhi TV showed GD receiving 41% of support, followed by UNM/Strength in Unity with 33%. 

IPSOS carried out interviews with 3,000 people throughout the country and its margin of errors is +/- 3.

The Central Election Commission (CEC) will announce the first official results of the parliamentary elections five to seven hours after polling stations closed across the country at 8 p.m.
