Tourists from 5 countries asked to present PCR tests starting today – quarantine time for all arrivals decreased to 8 days

All foreigners entering Georgia, including from Germany, France, Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia – countries to which Georgia has opened its borders unconditionally – will be required to present PCR test results from the proceeding 72 hours to enter Georgia or undergo PCR testing at their own expense in a laboratory located at the airport.
If they do not have PCR test results taken within the last 72 hours and do not conduct PCR tests in the laboratory of the airport, then they will be placed under quarantine.

Citizens of EU states that have put Georgia on the so-called green list (except for the above listed 5 countries) or have imposed various restrictions, may enter Georgia under a mandatory eight-day quarantine the costs of which they will have to cover themselves, reads the statement of the Foreign Ministry about the regulations for crossing the Georgian border.
After eight days, people placed in quarantine will take a PCR test and if the result is negative, they will be able to leave quarantine. However, they will still be obliged to take a second PCR test three days later. If the result of the repeat PCR test is positive on the 12th day, individuals will be hospitalised if needed. If hospitalisation is not needed, then the individual will be placed under quarantine and will continue treatment under the supervision of doctors.
Adjara tops coronavirus-hit regions
Georgia has reported a record 170 new cases of the coronavirus earlier today, of which 124 were registered in the Adjara region of Georgia, said Medical Director of Tbilisi Infectious Disease Hospital Marina Ezugbaia. Currently 1,154 patients are undergoing treatment at Covid centres in Georgia. 11 individuals recovered in Georgia within the last 24 hours. The total number of recoveries has reached 1,381.
Natia Mezvrishvili, head of the government administration said today that the government is not going to declare a full quarantine and a state of emergency in the country.

Three COVID-19 hotspots have been identified in Georgia’s eastern Kakheti region though the epidemiological situation is under full control, the head of the Kakheti branch of the National Centre for Disease Control, Neli Khizanishvili, said earlier today.
Georgia has reported 196 new cases of the coronavirus earlier today, the highest figure since the country confirmed its first case of COVID-19 at the end of February.145 of the 196 new patients are from the Adjara region of western Georgia. As of today 1,327 individuals remain infected with COVID-19 in the country. Despite the recent surge in the infections, the country has no plans to declare a nationwide lockdown. More than 490,000 people have been tested for the coronavirus in Georgia so far.
People entering and leaving Batumi will undergo thermal screening – if a high temperature is detected, individuals will be tested for coronavirus, said Natia Mezvrishvili, the head of the government administration earlier today.
Georgia has reported 179 new cases of the coronavirus earlier today, marking a slight decrease in the number compared to yesterday’s 196 new infections. Georgia has had 2,937 cases of the coronavirus since February 26, 2020. 1,422 of the 2,937 patients have recovered, while 19 others have died.As of today 1,496 individuals remain infected with COVID-19 in the country.

Asymptomatic coronavirus patients will leave self-isolation after 12 days without conducting a repeat coronavirus test, said Deputy Health Minister Tamar Gabunia.
Georgia has reported 326 new cases of coronavirus and one death in the past 24 hours. Georgia has had 6,192 cases of the coronavirus since February 26, 2020. Since then 3,120 patients have recovered, while 27 others have died.
Georgian citizens arriving home with a negative PCR test result will no longer be required to be placed under mandatory quarantine from October 21.
