GORBI exit poll says ruling party wins

The latest exit poll conducted by GORBI, commissioned by Imedi TV, reports the Georgian Dream ruling party received 54 percent of votes.
The second is the United National Movement opposition with 16 percent of votes.

- The Alliance of Patriots-5%;
- The Labour party-3%;
- Dimitri Lortkipanidze, Kakha Kukava-Democratic Movement election bloc-3%;
- The Republican Party-2%;
- All other parties-8%
The exit poll reads the ruling party mayoral candidate in Tbilisi Kakha Kaladze received 53percent of votes.

- European Georgia Tbilisi mayoral candidate Elene Khoshtaria-5%;

GORBI surveyed 6,000 voters at 100 election districts in Tbilisi. The margin of error is +/–2%.
Georgia’s Central Election Commission (CEC) has released final preliminary turnout by 8pm and stated it reached 45.64 percent.
Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikahsvili congratulated all of Georgia "with the completion of peaceful and free elections”. Commenting on the first exit poll results for the 2017 municipal elections in Georgia, Kvirikashvili said "this is another extremely important step towards democracy”.
In Georgia 1,262,809 voters throughout the country cast their vote in the Municipal Elections by 5pm this afternoon. Voter turnout was 36.71 percent at 5pm - nine hours after polling stations opened across the country, said the Central Election Commission (CEC) in its latest media update.
Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili has cast his ballot in today's Municipal Elections and voted for "a better Tbilisi”. PM arrived at Saburtalo #24 polling station in central Tbilisi about 9:00am with his family.
Georgia has once again proved it is part of democratic world and a member of the European family, ruling Georgian Dream party’s candidate Kakha Kaladze said at today’s briefing.
Fundamental freedoms were generally respected in the October 21 municipal elections in Georgia, and candidates were able to campaign freely. This was stated in the preliminary assessment of the elections released this afternoon by two international observing missions.
