Municipal Elections 2017: 45.64% final voter turnout

Georgia’s Central Election Commission (CEC) has released final preliminary turnout by 8pm and stated it reached 45.64 percent.

CEC announced in total 1, 570, 500 voters participated in the elections, out of the registered 3,440,123 voters.

Final election turnout in Tbilisi was 43.4percent.

CEC spokesperson Ana Mikeladze said that 204 complaints have been written in the voting process and most of them were because of procedural violations. 

Many of the complaints have been immediately responded and settled,” Mikeladze said.

Today Georgians voted for 2,058 members of 64 city councils (sakrebulo) and 64 municipal mayors.
