Rustavi2 channel announced final results obtained by the Edison Research company, commissioned by the television to conduct exit polls at stations across Georgia.

The final figures for Tbilisi mayoral candidates are as follows:

  • Kakha Kaladze, the Georgian Dream-Democratic Georgia party-54%
  • Zaal Udumashvili, the United National Movement party-16%
  • Aleko Elisashvili, an independent candidate-15%
  • Elene Khoshtaria, the European Georgia opposition-7%
  • Irma Inashvili, Alliance of Patriots-3%
  • Kakha Kukava, Election bloc Dimitri Lortkipanidze, Kakha Kukava-2%
  • Giorgi Vashadze, Election bloc Giorgi Vashadze - Unity New Georgia-2%
  • Giorgi Gugava, the Labour Party-1%

Results grouped according to political parties for Tbilisi City Council were presented as the following:

  • Georgian Dream-Democratic Georgia – 58%
  • United National Movement – 17%
  • Election bloc Bakradze, Ugulava - European Georgia – 9%
  • Davit Tarkhan-Mouravi, Irma Inashvili - Alliance of Patriots of Georgia – 5%
  • Democratic Movement-3%
  • Labour party-3%
  • Unity for New Georgia-3%
  • Republican Party-2%

The Edison Research also released data for the second largest city of Georgia Kutaisi. 

For Kutaisi mayor’s post: 

  • Giorgi Tchigvaria, the Georgian Dream-52%
  • Grigol Vashadze, the United National Movement-26%
  • David Gogisvanidze, the European Georgia-8%
  • Giorgi Tsulaia-Democratic Movement-7%
  • Grigol Bakhtadze, Alliance of Patriots-3%

The Georgian Dream received 58percent of votes for Kutaisi city council according to the poll and was followed by the United National Movement with 22percent. 

The third is the European Georgia with 10percent and only 3percent of votes was gained by the Democratic Movement.

The first exit poll results have been revealed for the 2017 municipal elections in Georgia, with the figures presenting the maiden picture of the polling results for the Tbilisi city mayor election race and results for the participating parties.

Rustavi2 channel announced the results obtained by the Edison Research company, commissioned by the television to conduct exit polls at stations across Georgia, as the voting process closed at 8pm local time.

The company's exit poll results feature a margin of error of 2-2.5 percent and represent results as of 6pm local time, with the figures for the mayoral race presented as below:

  • Kakha Kaladze – Georgian Dream-Democratic Georgia – 54.00%
  • Zaal Udumashvili – United National Movement – 15.00%
  • Aleko Elisashvili – Independent candidate – 14.00%
  • Elene Khoshtaria – Election bloc Bakradze, Ugulava - European Georgia – 7.00%
  • Kakha Kukava – Election bloc Dimitri Lortkipanidze, Kakha Kukava – Democratic Movement Free Georgia – 3.00%
  • Irma Inashvili – Davit Tarkhan-Mouravi, Irma Inashvili - Alliance of Patriots of Georgia – 3.00%
  • Giorgi Vashadze – Election bloc Giorgi Vashadze - Unity New Georgia – 2.00%
  • Giorgi Gugava – Shalva Natelashvili-Labour Party of Georgia – 1.00%

Results grouped according to political parties were presented as the following:

  • Georgian Dream-Democratic Georgia – 58.00%
  • United National Movement – 16.00%
  • Election bloc Bakradze, Ugulava - European Georgia – 9.00%
  • Davit Tarkhan-Mouravi, Irma Inashvili - Alliance of Patriots of Georgia – 5.00%

The Central Election Commission of Georgia is due to announce its preliminary results at a later time, while post-6pm exit poll results also to be revealed.

Georgian citizens voted for 2,058 members of 64 city councils (sakrebulo) and 64 municipal mayors in today's elections.
