Giorgi Vashadze has been one of the influential figures of the opposition United National Movement (UNM) before quitting the political party in May of 2016, claiming UNM had turned into a "closed system without new initiatives”.
Vashadze, a Harvard Business School graduate, has held different leading posts during the UNM rule.
From 2010-2012 he was Deputy Justice Minister. From 2006-2012 he also served as head of the National Agency of Public Registry. In 2012 he became Member of Parliament through the UNM party list.
Soon after leaving the UNM in 2016, he established a new political party New Georgia.
Vashadze is married with three children.
