Georgia has once again proved it is part of democratic world and a member of the European family, ruling Georgian Dream party’s candidate Kakha Kaladze said at today’s briefing.

Thanking voters for their trust and support Kaladze said it has been an overwhelming victory.

It is a great responsibility and honour to be the mayor of our capital, Tbilisi. Your support even doubles this responsibility and encourages me to do my best to deal with the challenges each citizen of Tbilisi is facing”, Kaladze said.

The Central Election Commission (CEC) released preliminary results of the 2017 municipal elections last night in which Kaladze received 51.06 percent of the vote.

We will start dealing with the problems of Tbilisi and implementing the program that we have declared. Each citizen of Tbilisi will soon feel the positive results of our work and I am sure that pretty soon our beloved city will move to a new stage of development”, Kaladze said.

Kaladze said he welcomes cooperation with anyone who loves Tbilisi, including his political rivals, those "who have specific realistic ideas and want to contribute to building a better future for our capital”.

He said "we have been rivals, but never enemies” and "we all love and want to have a better Tbilisi tomorrow” that is more beautiful, comfortable and ecologically safe.
