New Mayor of Tbilisi and former Energy Minister Kakha Kaladze has officially started his duties today and named four deputies.
Kaladze said he will name the fifth deputy soon, who will most likely be Ilia Eloshvili, who is now taking on the position of energy minister.
Eloshvili will join us as soon as the procedures concerning the governmental reshuffle and structural changes are complete,” Kaladze stated.

Kaladze’s deputies are:
- Irakli Khmaladze, Vice Mayor of Tbilisi: he served as Kaladze’s deputy in the Energy Ministry.
- Maia Bitadze, former deputy head of the Ministry of Environment;
- Giga Nikolaishvili who served as the deputy of former Tbilisi Mayor Davit Narmania, he will retain his position.
- Irakli Bendeliani, former employee in the Ministry of Energy.

The election campaign of the ruling party’s mayoral candidate Kakha Kaladze has officially kicked off. Opening the election headquarter for the upcoming local elections in the autumn later yesterday, Kaladze said he will not get tired to serve Tbilisi and its citizens.

Newly elected Mayor of Tbilisi Kakha Kaladze has refused his mayoral salary. Tbilisi City Hall’s press office said Kaladze will serve as mayor without using his monthly salary as mayor "for his personal needs.” Instead, he will be donating this money.
