German Ambassador wishes success to PM candidate, Georgia on EU integration path

Peter Fischer, the German Ambassador to Georgia, on Thursday wished success to Irakli Kobakhidze, the candidate for the position of Prime Minister, as well as Georgia on its European integration path.
The Ambassador noted his Embassy would “actively cooperate” with the new PM, emphasising the bonds of friendship between Georgia and Germany.
Integration into the European Union is a priority [for the Georgian Government] and it is also our priority that Georgia could approach us as quickly and smoothly as possible and join the bloc. As we know from the current Government, the continuity of activities is to be expected [from them on EU path]”, Fischer told the media.
The German diplomat attended a plenary session of the Parliament, where Kobakhidze presented his Government programme.
