French Ambassador wishes PM candidate “successful” implementation of EU integration plan

Sheraz Gasri, the French Ambassador to Georgia, on Thursday wished Irakli Kobakhidze, the candidate for the position of the Prime Minister, a successful implementation of the plan for “Georgia's Euro-Atlantic aspirations”.
The French diplomat attended a plenary session of the Parliament, where Kobakhidze presented his Government programme.
The candidate for the position of the head of the Government on Wednesday said the “main priority” would be the country’s full integration into European and Euro-Atlantic structures, as outlined in its constitution.
Kobakhidze also stressed receiving the European Union membership candidate status in December had been “the most important political act” on Georgia’s European integration path.
Irakli Kobakhidze, the candidate for the position of the Prime Minister of Georgia, on Thursday said peaceful restoration of the country’s territorial integrity and “complete overcoming” of poverty were the “two most important national tasks” of the Government.
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on Wednesday said he attached “great importance” to launching a “strategic dialogue” with Georgia, adding the European Union was “actually our region” since Georgia had received the bloc’s membership candidate status in December.
Robin Dunnigan, the United States Ambassador to Georgia, on Wednesday noted her office’s “positive” cooperation with Irakli Kobakhidze, the candidate for the position of the Prime Minister of the country.
Irakli Kobakhidze, the candidate for the position of the Prime Minister of Georgia, on Wednesday said the Government’s “main priority” was the country’s full integration into European and Euro-Atlantic structures, as outlined in the Georgian constitution.
Vesselin Valkanov, the Bulgarian Ambassador to Georgia, on Thursday said he believed the new Government would “do their utmost” to continue the “essential” progress for the country’s development.
Peter Fischer, the German Ambassador to Georgia, on Thursday wished success to Irakli Kobakhidze, the candidate for the position of Prime Minister, as well as Georgia on its European integration path.
Georgian Parliament on Thursday approved Irakli Kobakhidze, the former Chair of the ruling Georgian Dream party, as the Prime Minister of Georgia, following the resignation of the former PM Irakli Garibashvili.
Oliver Varhelyi, the European Union Commissioner for Neighbourhood and Enlargement, on Thursday congratulated Irakli Kobakhidze on being approved as the country’s Prime Minister.
