Robin Dunnigan, the United States Ambassador to Georgia, on Wednesday noted her office’s “positive” cooperation with Irakli Kobakhidze, the candidate for the position of the Prime Minister of the country.
In an interview with Rustavi 2 TV channel, Dunnigan noted she had enjoyed cooperation with Kobakhidze while he served as the Chair of the ruling Georgian Dream party, before his nomination for the PM position last month.
She further expressed her hope the cooperation would continue once the Georgian official is confirmed as the PM by the Parliament.
The US diplomat also highlighted her “good” relationship with the outgoing PM Irakli Garibashvili and wished him “success” in his new capacity as Chair of the ruling party.
Strategic relations between Georgia and the United States were discussed on Wednesday in a meeting between Tornike Rizhvadze, the head of the Government of Georgia’s western region of Adjara, and Robin Dunnigan, the United States Ambassador to the country.
