Georgian Foreign Minister Ilia Darchiashvili on Saturday discussed the country’s European integration agenda, as well as global challenges, at the meetings with his Finnish, French and Brazilian counterparts, held on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference, the Georgian Foreign Ministry said.
Darchiashvili and Finnish Foreign Minister Pekka Haavisto reviewed Georgia’s agenda of European and Euro-Atlantic integration, including the implementation of the 12-point conditions outlined by the European Commission. The diplomats “highly evaluated” the Commission’s analytical report on Georgia, praising the country’s progress on the European integration path.

The mutual experience of Georgia and Finland in integration into the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation was also emphasised by the sides while discussing the existing security challenges, with Haavisto confirming his country’s support for the European Union enlargement policy and Georgia’s European aspirations, as well as for the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Georgia’s European integration agenda and the Commission’s report were also discussed by Georgian FM and his French counterpart Catherine Colonna. As the officials noted, the evaluation set a “positive precondition” for Georgia’s further progress on the EU path.

The sides discussed bilateral cooperation between the countries and the security environment in the Black Sea region. Darchiashvili thanked Colonna for her country’s support of Georgia and expressed hope that France would continue to support Georgia in all international formats in the future.

The bilateral relations and the global challenges were reviewed by Darchiashvili and Brazilian Foreign Minister Mauro Vieira during the meeting. The high diplomats expressed readiness to work actively to further deepen the cooperation between the countries.The ministers also highlighted the importance of the South Caucasus and the existing investment potential that could be interesting for Brazilian business.
