Greek President Katerina Sakellaropoulou on Thursday said her country supported the European and Euro-Atlantic integration of Georgia in a meeting with Georgia’s Foreign Minister Ilia Darchiashvili.
Sakellaropoulou highlighted the “historical ties” and “centuries-old” friendly relations between the two countries, the Georgian foreign service said.
I am glad to have the opportunity to meet you today. We support Georgia's European and Euro-Atlantic integration. Greece is closely monitoring the ongoing events in the South Caucasus region”, the Greek President told Darchiashvili.

In his turn, Darchiashvili said his visit to the country would add a “new impetus” to the relations between the two countries.
We appreciate that there are very warm relations between our peoples. We will continue to work in this direction in the future in order to bring our people closer to each other and to showcase the culture of our countries even more. I am sure that we will have interesting and specific steps in this regard in the near future”, the top Georgian diplomat said.
